The ostracisation took place on Sunday in the Deshia Tola Panchayat as per the orders of the Mukhiya (Panchayat chief) Anwar and Sarpanch Mannun during a Panchayat meeting, for allegedly threatening to frame some people under the SC/ST Act following a clash.
The Mahadalits belonged to several families and one woman lodged an FIR with the police against the Mukhiya and the Sarpanch under various sections of the IPC and SC/ST Act.
An investigation is on in the matter.
