Maharashtra BJP's two-day executive committee meet begins

The two-day executive committee meeting of the Maharashtra BJP began here today as part of its preparations for the forthcoming legislative assembly elections scheduled later this year.

BJP spokesman Madhav Bhandari told reporters here today that district unit chiefs gave details of the political situation in their respective areas and steps needed to ensure that the party wins maximum seats.

Senior union ministers Nitin Gadkari, Piyush Goyal, Prakash Javdekar will address party office bearers including taluka heads tommorrow at a day-long convention.

The party is expected to firm up its election strategy at tommorrow's meeting, he said.

The BJP and Sena won 42 out of the total 48 Lok Sabha seats.
