Maharashtra CM chairs review meeting for Bakri Eid

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today chaired a meeting to review preparations for Bakri Eid, slated for August 22, with senior officials from the police, BMC and state health departments in attendance.

A government release quoted Fadnavis as saying that the facilities at the civic-run Deonar abattoir had been upgraded.

He called for peaceful celebrations of the festival and also asked officials to ensure that cleanliness was maintained.

It informed that the abattoir's water capacity had been increased to 10 lakh litres and 88 close circuit television cameras and digital indicators had been put in place.

Fifteen police help desks had also been set up at the abattoir, it said.

 

The meeting was attended by Minister of state for Home (Rural) Deepak Kesarkar, Animal Husbandry Minister Mahadev Jankar, Congress MLAs Mohammed Arif Naseem Khan, Amin Patel and Aslam Sheikh, AIMIM MLA Waris Pathan and BJP MLA Ashish Shelar.
