Maharashtra disburses Rs 4crore for TB control in tribal areas

Maharashtra Government has sanctioned disbursement of over Rs 4 crore for undertaking TB control measures for tribal population in the State.

A total of Rs 6,26,21,000 has been approved for taking steps to diagnose, control and fight the bacterial infection, of which Rs 4,42,27,000 is being disbursed now, according to a Government Resolution (GR) issued today.

A revised national TB control programme is being implemented for tribal communities in Maharashtra along with the State's routine drives, it said.

The funds will be utilised for monitoring of TB programmes, transportation of samples for testing, renting of vehicles and other supplementary expenses, the GR stated.
