Maharashtra favours public-private partnership, says Chavan

Maharashtra government favours a policy of implementing projects through public-private partnership, which would help boost the state's development, Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan said here today.

Several projects are being implemented in the state through public-private partnership, Chavan said, speaking at a presentation on the issue here, attended by Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia.

The presentation covered the Versova to Ghatkopar and Charkop to Mankhurd stretch of the Mumbai metro, the Trans-Harbour Link Road, the Navghar to Alibaug corridor, terminal markets at Mumbai, Nagpur and Nashik, besides the Mihan project in Nagpur, an official release said.

A presentation was also made on the Mumbai international airport. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Mumbai civic chief Sitaram Kunte and CIDCO chief Sanjay Bhatia were present.
