Maharashtra Govt approves Rs 1,988-crore health master plan

The plan was approved by State Cabinet, which met here this evening under Chairmanship of Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan.

According to the proposal, 1,9236 new posts, including 1,916 of medical officers, will be created. As many as 1,257 new healthcare centres will be set up and 55 existing ones will be upgraded.

At present, there are 1,809 primary health centres and 10,579 sub-centres, 356 rural, 23 district and three 200-bed general hospitals in the state.
