Maharashtra make Ranji quarters with win over Vidarbha

Maharashtra beat Vidarbha by six wickets to reach the Ranji Trophy cricket quarterfinals from Group B here today.

Vidarbha did well to make 391 after following on, thanks to Ravi Jangid (66), Urvesh Patel (87), Shalabh Shrivastava (54) and Rakesh Dhurv (59).

Chasing a 164-run target, Maharashtra got home in 30.5 overs. Rahul Tripathi remained unbeaten on 39 while Harshad Khadiwale made 42 at the top of the order.

Maharashtra, with 26 points from eight games, qualified as the second team from the group after Delhi, who finished with 37 points. Vidarbha missed out with 24 points from eight matches.
 

Brief scores: Maharashtra 342 and 168/4 (Harshad Khadiwale 42; Ravikumar Thakur 2/50). Vidarbha 114 and 391.
