Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today set up a committee of senior bureaucrats to finalise a policy on crop survey through the satellite.

The committee will comprise secretaries of information technology, revenue and agriculture departments.

Fadnavis said the committee would decide how to use the technology of satellite imagery to get details of crop yield ('aanewari') speedily.

This would benefit the farmers as there is a drought-like situation often in the state, the Chief Minister said.
