Maharashtra Police, Siddharth Club, Amravati, Quidwai Club, Nagpur and Leaders Club, Mumbai have qualified for the semi-finals of the Maharashtra State Football Championship.

While Siddharth Club defeated City Club, Meeraj 4-0, Maharashtra Police managed a 1-0 win against SFX Club, Amravati this morning in the quarterfinals.

Leaders Club, Mumbai faced no difficulty in taming HR United, Amravati 3-1, but Quidwai Club defeated the hosts Independent Club by a margin of 2-1 win.

Quidwai boys were stunned in the 18th minute when Independent's mercurial left winger Karim headed in a superb goal. Independent successfully defended the lead till the breather.

On resumption, Quidwai boys combined well and in the 9th minute forced a penalty corner, which Anwar Ansari superbly converted into a goal for an equaliser.

Even as a huge crowd sighed at this loss, Quidwai again forced a flag kick in the 16th minute and this time, Tiwari booted home the match winner.

Nikhil Bagle and Rajvir Shende struck twice that saw Siddharth Club make the light work of City Club, Meeraj while Maharashtra Police managed to defend its lone first half goal scored by Jitesh in the 15th minute against a spirited SFX side.

Login, Shunai and Qadir scored in Mumbai's 3-1 win against HR United, Amravati, for whom King reduced the margin.
