A new women's policy draft will be unveiled by Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan on March 8, on the occasion of the International Women's Day, Maharashtra Women and Child Welfare Minister Varsha Gaikwad today said.

She was speaking at a 'Janata Durbar' organised by the state Congress this morning.

The Minister said that the draft policy is in the final stages of preparation.

The budget decision to set up a new bank for women would help women, self-help groups and women's organisations to raise funds for development works, she said.

The Minister felt that the need of the hour was to create awareness about having registered marriages to reduce marriage expenses.
