Health of eminent litterateur and social activist Mahasweta Devi showed slight improvement during the day today but she continues to be critical, doctors said.
She has been admitted for around 50 days at a private hospital and showed signs of slight improvement, they said.
"We have given her slight support of ventilator but she continues to be critical," the doctors said.

Devi has been suffering from old age-related illness, kidney and lung problems besides bacteraemia, a bacterial infection in the blood.
The 90-year-old writer-activist is known for her dedicated service for the welfare of tribals in different parts of India.
Winner of Jnanpith and Magsaysay awards and accorded a Padma Vibhushan, she had been admitted to the same hospital earlier this year with old age-related ailments.
