Mahila Congress activists today held a protest demonstration here against the decision of the Narendra Modi government to withdraw postal stamps on Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi.

Led by president of the Jammu and Kashmir unit of Mahila Congress, Indu Pawar the activists staged a protest demonstration and raised slogans against Union Post and Telecommunication minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"Withdrawing of the postal stamps of Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi is a cowardly act by the incumbent government, the two leaders are the real national heroes of this country", Pawar said.

Pawar alleged that the action was part of the vendetta by the present government against the Congress leadership.

"Entire world acknowledges the fact that it was under the leadership of Indira Gandhi that India won the 1971 war against Pakistan and created a new country", she said.

She said that the Narendra Modi led government must not waste time on these issues and should devote their time to uplift the poor people of this nation and also fulfill promises made to the common people.
