Press Trust of India Mumbai
Sandeep Bafna, owner of a showroom on the ground floor of Altaf Manzil building in Mahim area here, a part of which collapsed in June, today moved the Bombay high court seeking anticipatory bail.

His anticipatory bail application was rejected by the sessions court last month.

Bafna claims that he was falsely implicated by police and complainant Rizwan Merchant in the case.

It is alleged that Bafna had stripped off the beams inside his showroom, which weakened the entire structure, a charge denied by him.

The High Court has kept his petition for hearing on September 17.

Ten persons were killed in the collapse of the building on June 10 this year.
