Homegrown auto major Mahindra and Mahindra today reported 18.74 per cent increase in tractor sales to 21,386 units in April.
The company had sold 18,011 units in the same month last year.
Domestic tractor sales grew by 21.74 per cent to 20,704 units in April as against 17,006 units in the year-ago month, the company said in a statement.
Exports during the month declined by 32.13 per cent to 682 units compared with 1,005 units in the same month a year ago, it added.
M&M President and Chief Executive Farm Equipment and Two- wheeler Division Rajesh Jejurikar said with the forecast of a normal monsoon for this year, the company is hoping that improved market sentiments would drive the demand in the next few months.
