Mahindra World City adds 12 new companies in last one year

Mahindra group's industrial hub Mahindra World City(MWC), Jaipur today said it has added 12 new companies in the last one year, garnering about Rs 1,000 crore investment.

Operational since 2008, MWC, Jaipur is spread over 3,000 acres and encompasses 4 sector-specific SEZs (IT/ITES, Engineering & Related Industries, Handicrafts and Gems & Jewellery) and a Domestic Tariff Area (DTA).

MWC, Jaipur, a joint venture between Mahindra Lifespace Developers and Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO), has added 12 customers and garnered close to Rs 1,000 crore in investments in the last one year, it added.

It is now making available world-class industrial infrastructure to a total of 67 global and Indian companies till date, a company statement said.
 

"Aggregate investments by MWC, Jaipur and its constituent units have crossed Rs 2,500 crore so far, with cumulative exports generated worth approximately Rs 4,000 crore, and employment created for about 11,000 persons", it added.

The 12 companies signed by MWC include a combination of new clients and expansion of facilities/operations by existing customers with an on-site presence.

The clients acquired over the last year represent a wide variety of industries and sectors, ranging from IT/ITES, fashion garments and consumer packaging, to skill development, food processing and knitting accessories manufacturing, the statement said.
