A Delhi court today fixed December 11 for commencement of arguments on framing of charges against former BSP MP Dhananjay Singh and his wife Jagriti Singh, who are accused in a case related to murder of their maid.

Dhananjay and Jagriti were arrested on November 5, last year in connection with the death of their 35-year-old maid Rakhi Bhadra, a resident of West Bengal.

While Dhananjay is out on interim bail, Jagriti is lodged in Tihar Jail under judicial custody.

Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) Lokesh Kumar Sharma had earlier dismissed Jagriti's plea for interim bail on health grounds.

She had sought bail submitting that she needed to undergo surgery for her ailment and that she has only one kidney.

The court had earlier issued fresh notice to Tihar Jail Superintendent to depute some person for production of entire medical record from AIIMS pertaining to Jagriti on November 5.

The court had issued the notice after perusing the affidavit filed by AIIMS Medical Superintendent that the entire record was sent to jail authorities under whose custody she was produced.

But the jail doctors had earlier denied the availability of any medical record in their office, the court had noted.

She was earlier taken to AIIMS by the jail authorities for a check-up.

The police had charge sheeted Jagriti for various offences punishable under IPC, including sections 302 (murder), 307 (attempt to murder), 344 (illegal confinement), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 201 (destruction of evidence).

Dhananjay was charge sheeted for various offences under IPC, including alleged destruction of evidence and abetting offences of murder and attempt to murder.

Bhadra's body, with injury marks on her legs, chest and arms, was recovered from Dhananjay's South Avenue residence here on the evening of November 4, last year.
