Main accused in hotelier's death arrested

The main accused behind the death of a hotel owner here was arrested today from Howrah station, police said.

Sumit Naha, the hotelier, suffered a heart attack and died on June 23, after allegedly receiving threat calls from local gangsters.

"The main accused Riaz Ahmed was arrested at Howrah station when he was returning home," Nishad Pervez, DC Headquarters of Howrah said.

Ahmed used to pass threats and extort money from the authorities of the hotel, police said.

The family members of Naha had complained to the police that gangsters Dipak Shaw and Riaz Ahmed used to threaten and extort money from the hotel manager.
 

Shaw has been absconding, police said.
