Maize, bajra rise in mixed trade

In a mixed pattern of trading, maize and bajra prices firmed up on increased demand from consuming industries at the wholesale grains market today.

Barley and jowar, however, ended lower on adequate supplies.

In the national capital, maize and bajra rose by Rs 30 and and Rs 25 to Rs 1,290-1,295 and Rs 1,125-1,130 per quintal respectively.

On the other hand, barley moved down by Rs 50 to Rs 1,520-1,525 per quintal. Jowar yellow and white also eased to Rs 1,300-1,375 and Rs 2,300-2,450 against last close of Rs 1,375-1,400 and Rs 2,300-2,500 per quintal respectively.

Wheat MP (deshi) 2,245-2,445, Wheat dara (for mills) 1,610-1,615, Chakki atta (delivery) 1,615-1,620, Atta Rajdhani (10 kg) 220, Shakti bhog (10 kg) 220, Roller flour mill Rs 850-865 (50 kg), Maida 910-925 (50 kg) and Sooji 1,050-1,060 (50 kg).

Basmati rice (Lal Quila) 10,400, Shri Lal Mahal 10,000, Super Basmati Rice 9,500, Basmati common new 7,500-8,000, Rice Pusa (1121) 6,300-7,000, Permal raw 2,100-2,150, Permal wand 2,250-2,300, Sela 2,650-2,700 and Rice IR-8 1,925-1,975,Bajra 1,125-1,130, Jowar yellow 1300-1,375, white 2,300-2,450, Maize 1,290-1,295, Barley 1,520-1,525.
