Maize prices sliped by Rs 10 to Rs 1,380 per quintal in future trading today as participants indulged in trimming positions amid a weak trend at the physical markets and subdued overseas cues.

At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, maize for delivery this month was trading lower by Rs 10, or 0.72 per cent to Rs 1,380 per quintal, with an open interest of 5,250 lots.

On similar lines, maize for delivery in March month contract fell by Rs 4, or 0.28 per cent to Rs 1,407 per quintal, in an open interest of 2,570 lots.

Marketmen said offloading of positions by speculators amids a weak trend at the domestic spot markets and weak global cues, mainly weighed on maize prices at futures trade here.
