Maize remains weak on low demand

In restricted activity, maize prices eased further by Rs 20 per quintal at the wholesale grains market today due to muted demand from consuming industries.

However, other grains held steady in thin trade.

Traders said tepid demand from consuming industries against adequate stocks position, mainly kept pressure on maize prices.

In the national capital, maize fell by another Rs 20 to Rs 1,500-1,510 per quintal.

Following are today's quotations (in Rs per quintal):

Wheat MP (desi) Rs 2,250-2,530, Wheat dara (for mills) Rs 1,755-1,765, Chakki atta (delivery) Rs 1,765-1,770, Atta Rajdhani (10 kg) Rs 240, Shakti Bhog (10 kg) Rs 240, Roller flour mill Rs 970-980 (50 kg), Maida Rs 1,050-1,060 (50 kg) and Sooji Rs 1,190-1,200 (50 kg).
 

Basmati rice (Lal Quila) Rs 10,700, Shri Lal Mahal Rs 11,300, Super Basmati Rice Rs 9,700, Basmati common new Rs 8,600-8,700, Rice Pusa (1121) Rs 7,000-8,300, Permal raw Rs 2,300-2,350, Permal wand Rs 2,450-2,500, Sela Rs 3,100-3,200 and Rice IR-8 Rs 2,050-2,100, Bajra Rs 1,420-1,430, Jowar yellow Rs 1650-1700, white Rs 3,350-3,550, Maize Rs 1,500-1,510, Barley Rs 1,580-1,600.
