Maize prices rose by Rs 10 per quintal in thin trading on wholesale grains market today on the back of increased demand from local parties.

However, other grains including wheat and rice basmati traded in a tight range in scattered deals and settled around previous levels.

Traders said apart from pick up in demand, tight supplies from producing regions mainly supported the upside in maize prices.
