Maize prices advanced by Rs 50 per quintal at the wholesale grains market today amid rising demand and tight supplies from producing areas.
However, wheat weakened on adequate stocks position against reduced offtake by flour mills.

In the national capital, maize added another Rs 50 to Rs 1,600-1,605 per quintal.
On the other hand, wheat dara (for mills) declined by Rs 10 to Rs 1,660-1,665 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and traded lower at Rs 1,675-1,680 from Rs 1,680-1,685 per 90 kg.
Atta flour mills and maize also weakened by Rs 5 each to Rs 845-855 and Rs 935-945 per 50 kg, respectively.
However, sooji showed some strength and edged up to Rs 1,040-1,050 per 50 kg.
