SAD-BJP government is committed for the overall development of the state and false claims made by the political opponents are baseless, Punjab Minister Bikram Singh Majithia said here today.
The state Revenue and Rehabilitation, New & Renewable energy Minister took an aim at his political opponents and said that there is no shortage of funds in Punjab.
He said that their political opponents are baffled due to slew of development works and successful pro-people welfare programmes of the Shiromani Akali Dal-Bharatiya Janta Party led Punjab government.

He said this while addressing gathering on the occasion of inauguration of newly constructed Tehsil Complex and Patwar Station, here today.
Majithia said that all the government schemes, programmes and other development works started for the welfare of people have been possible only if Punjab has a sound financial position.
He said that thousands of kilometres of new roads, thermal plants with an investment of more than Rs 33,000 crore, Atta-Dal scheme, pension schemes, power plants, new District Administrative Complexes and Tehsil complexes, modernisation of infrastructure in villages, besides others have been possible only if Punjab government had ample funds.
He said that the Punjab government is committed for the overall development of the state and false claims made by the political opponents are baseless and far from truth.
He said that due to the efforts of Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, 1.5 lakh new tubewell connections would be allotted.
He assured that after allotment of these new tubewell connections, if any person is left, he can still contact the area MLA and he would certainly get one.
Majithia said that due to Deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal's efforts, Punjab is now a power surplus state.
He said that new thermal power plants have come up in the state with an investment of more than Rs 33,000 crore.
He said that this summer, despite 24 percent less rainfall, there were no power cuts in Punjab, whereas in neighbouring state of Haryana, the farmers are getting only 5-6 hours electricity supply.
He also thanked the union government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for implementing One Rank One Pension for the ex servicemen and said that the Union government should now focus on uplifting the standard of living of farmers.
He said that more than 70 per cent people in India are dependent on agriculture and our country can prosper only if our farmers are prosperous.
