Delhi government has directed for strict implementation of National Green Tribunal's order concerning construction sites believed to be one of major sources of dust pollution in the national capital.
A high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today also reviewed the construction of buildings and other construction sites in Delhi, said PWD minister Satyendar Jain.
"The 100 major construction projects in the city will be checked weekly and challaned if found violating pollution related guidelines."

The SDMs have been empowered for checking construction sites measuring from 400 sq meters upto 20,000 sq meters, along with MCDs. After a week, the exercise will be reviewed to find out how many projects were challaned, he said.
All the construction sites have also be directed to put up boards describing measures for preventing pollution.
The Delhi Pollution Control Committee will check construction sites larger than 20,000 square meters while the SDMs will check smaller projects along with MCDs.
"MCDs have a dual responsibility to check all construction sites whether larger than 20,000 sq meter or smaller ones. We have directed the SDMs to notify all the construction sites to the MCDs as they have field staff to undertake checking," he said.
Delhi Environment Secretary Ashwini Kumar said that a detailed discussion on IIT Kanpur report on air pollution in Delhi will be undertaken and its final version will be soon made public.
