Major demolition drive in north Delhi

Over 150 alleged illegal properties have been recently demolished in north Delhi as part of the civic body's anti-encroachment drive.

The demolition drives were carried out in Civil Lines, Rohini and Karol Bagh Zones of the North Delhi Municipal Corporation, the civic body said today.

"In Civil Lines Zone, sealing action was taken against 13 properties in Pitampura, Wazirpur Industrial area, Model Town, Derawal Nagar, among other places, including a mobile phone towers at Mall Road and another near post office in Burari," the civic body said in a statement.

About 77 illegal constructions were demolished in areas of Civil Lines Zone such as Wazirpur, Gujranwala Town, Rajasthani Udyog Nagar, Edward Lane, Kamla Nagar, Model Town - III, Moolchand Colony, among other places.
 

Illegally developed portions of properties were also demolished in areas including Rampura, Mahendru Enclave, Majlis Park, Ashok Vihar Phase-I and phase - III, Shakti Nagar, Deep Enclave, Rajpura Gur Mandi, Keshav Puram.

"In Rohini Zone, 52 demolition actions were taken and four properties were sealed till August. One property was also sealed for misuse of property. 20 major demolition actions were taken in areas in Rohini," it said.

In Karol Bagh Zone, demolition action was taken against illegal portions of two properties in East Patel Nagar, it added.
