Twenty workers of a paint manufacturing unit in Kinahukadavu had a miraculous escape as machinery and raw material, estimated to be worth lakhs of Rupees, were gutted in a major fire.
Police said one of the workers noticed the fire and immediately alerted his colleagues, who rushed out, even as the fire spread quickly to the raw materials and paints.
Twenty fire tenders from the city and Pollachi arrived at the scene and doused the flames, they said.
Police said the material and machinery destroyed in the fire were estimated to be worth lakhs of Rupees.
