An army officer was today injured when his service weapon went off accidentally during a cordon and search operation in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district, the police said.
Security forces launched an anti-militancy operation in Kangnoo village of Shopian following information about presence of militants there,a police official said.
Major Praveen, who suffered injury in the leg, was rushed to 92 base hospital of the Army here, the official said.
