Major recruitment drive at MSRTC soon: Minister

Maharashtra Government will soon undertake a major recruitment drive to fill up vacancies of drivers and conductors in the state-run transport firm MSRTC and also increase the number of buses it operates.

Transport Minister Diwakar Raote said drivers and conductors will be soon recruited in the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC).

He was addressing a meeting organised by Maharashtra ST Kamgar Sena, a trade union, at Dadasaheb Gaikwad Hall here yesterday.

Talking about fleet expansion, Raote said the number of MSRTC buses will be increased from 18,000 to 30,000.

The Government will reserve some seats in automobile engineering colleges for the children of employees who are members of the ST Kamgar Sena, he said.
