Major reshuffle of IAS and IPS officers in UP

In a major reshuffle in the state administrative and police set up, Uttar Pradesh government tonight transferred 20 IAS and 62 IPS officers including commissioner, DIG and police chief of Azamgarh.

Government transferred Commissioner of Azamgarh Ram Prasad Goswami and posted Mani Prasad Misra in his place, a spokesperson said.

DIG of Azamgarh Umesh Chandra Srivastava and SP Dayanand Misra have also been removed. Dharmavir and Ajay Kumar will be the new DIG and SP, he said.

T Venktesh has been appointed as the new commissioner of Lucknow while Sudhir Kumar Dixit will be the new commissioner of Devi Patan, he said adding that Aligarh, Varanasi and Shahjahanpur will have new district magistrates.
 

He said that the SSP of Lucknow, Rajesh Pandey will also be replaced by SSP of Etawah, Manjil Saini.

IG of Gorakhpur Hari Ram Sharma has been made the new IG, law and order, while Mohit Agarwal has been sent to Gorakhpur in his place.

Districts which have been affected by today's reshuffle are Aligarh, Allahabad, Badaun, Bulandshahr, Siddhartnagar, Gonda, Etah, Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnore, Sitapur, Jaunpur, Chandauli, Bhadohi, Baghpat, Saharanpur, Lucknow and Etawah.
