In order to foil incursion bids in the region, the police force was today asked to make all efforts to strengthen the anti-infiltration grids in their respective areas.

"Police should make all efforts to strengthen anti-infiltration grid in their respective areas of responsibility in Jammu region," said Inspector General of Police, Jammu, Danish Rana.

During a high-level meeting, the IGP told officers to ensure an effective security grid in the district and to strengthen the working of 'nakas', ensuring alertness and supervising their working regularly.

Rana had batted strongly for setting up a third tier of police security force along the Indo-Pak border to check infiltration during a meeting with the Union Home Secretary LC Goyal a fortnight ago.

The IGP also asked police officers to book drug traffickers under the law and prevent drug abuse in the society.
