Make proposals for relief to firing-affected people:Guv to adm

Jammu and Kashmir Governor NN Vohra today directed the state administration to prepare well considered proposals to provide relief to the people residing in border villages hit by repeated firing from Pakistan.

The government should prepare well considered proposals to provide relief to the people residing in the border villages who have been put to great inconvenience by repeated instances of heavy mortar shelling from across the Line of Control, the Governor instructed Suresh Kumar, Principal Secretary Home today.

Kumar called on Vohra today and briefed him about the law and order situation in the State, a Raj Bhawan spokesperson said.
 

The Governor has asked the Home Secretary to hold urgent consultations with the Deputy Commissioners and responsible civil society representatives of the five border districts and also after consulting the BSF and Army in this regard.

The Raj Bhawan spokesman also said that the Governor has fixed a meeting to discuss the important issues with the state Chief Secretary, Home Secretary, DGP, Divisional Commissioner and representatives of the BSF and Army early next week.
