Malaysia has evinced interest in working with Andhra Pradesh government to develop tourism in the state.

A high-level Malaysian delegation, led by Transport Minister Liow Tiong Lai, met Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today and discussed the possibility of cooperation in tourism and other sectors like ports, airports, transportation and urban development, a release from Chief Minister's Office said.

The CM told the visiting delegation that Andhra Pradesh has immense potential of developing tourism along its 975 km long coastline.

Given the number of historic Buddhist sites in AP, the state would also be developed as a centre for Buddhist tourism, Naidu said, adding "Our new capital is coming up in the area, where Buddhism once flourished."

The Malaysian minister said his government has already entered into an agreement with Andhra Pradesh in implementing administrative reforms and would join hands to develop other infrastructure sectors, the release added.
