Malaysian Style bubble tea launched in Coimbatore

: Cha Republic Private Ltd, a Chennai based food and beverage company, today opened its outlet here, offering the famous Taiwanese bubble tea with a twist of Malaysian flavour.

Bubble tea, commonly known as Pearl Milk Tea, Boba Milk Tea or Boba Nai Cha, is a Taiwanese tea-based drink invented in tea shops in Taichung, Taiwan in the 1980's, typically of two styles- fruit flavoured teas and milk teas, Vanita Ramasamy, a promoter, told reporters at the launch.

Other varieties are 100 per cent crushed fruit smoothies with tapioca pearls and fruit based jellies, available in fruit flavours, such as Smoothies, Frui'Tea Series, Shakes, Oreo Series and the Milk Tea Series, she said.
 

The oldest bubble tea has a mixture of hot Taiwanese black tea, small tapioca pearls, condensed milk and honey, Vanita said.

The company, incorporated in Chennai n 2012, introduced the beverage 'Bubble Tea', to the market under the Brand Name 'Cha Republic', and over the years many variations have been created, the most common of which is served cold rather than hot, she said.

It's a very popular drink in South East Asia,U.S., Canada, Australia and Asia and Cha Republic has been the first of its kind introducing this to Chennai and now to Coimbatore.

Cha Republic has six outlets in Chennai, Vanita said.
