Malka, arhar move up on retailers' demand

Prices of malka and arhar were trading higher by up to Rs 150 per quintal at the wholesale market today on the back of rise in demand from retailers.

Traders said pick-up in demand from retailers against tight stocks position on fall in supplies from producing belts mainly helped malka and arhar prices to trade higher.

In the national capital, malka local and best quality were trading up by Rs 150 each to Rs 4,450-4,650 and Rs 4,550 -4,750 per quintal, respectively.

Arhar and its dal dara variety also seen in some demand and ended higher by Rs 50 and Rs 100 to Rs 4,400 and Rs 6,400 -8,200 per quintal, respectively.

Urad Rs 4,500-5,600, Urad Chilka (local) Rs 4,600-4,700, Urad best Rs 4,700-5,200, Dhoya Rs 5,100-5,300, Moong Rs 4,700-5,400, Dal Moong Chilka local Rs 5,400-5,600, Moong Dhoya local Rs 6,000-6,500 and best quality Rs 6,500-6,700.

Masoor small Rs 3,750-3,950, bold Rs 3,800-4,050, Dal Masoor local Rs 4,050-4,550, best quality Rs 4,150-4,650, Malka local Rs 4,450-4,650, best Rs 4,550-4,750, Moth Rs 3,500-3,900, Arhar Rs 4,400, Dal Arhar Dara Rs 6,400-8,200.

Gram Rs 5,700-6,500, Gram dal (local) Rs 6,400-6,800, best quality Rs 6,800-6,900, Besan (35 kg), Shakti bhog Rs 2,500, Rajdhani Rs 2,500, Rajma Chitra Rs 7,800-10,100, Kabuli Gram small Rs 9,800-11,000, Dabra Rs 2,700-2,800, Imported Rs 4,700-5,100, Lobia Rs 4,800-5,000, Peas white Rs 2,625-2,650 and green Rs 2,675-2,775.
