Mocking the proposed tie-up between Congress and CPI(M) for the West Bengal assembly polls by asking them to form a joint government in Kerala, TMC chief Mamata Banerjee today said candidates of the "unholy" alliance would lose their deposits in the state elections.
"The Trinamool Congress was formed to fight against the CPI(M) as Congress was having a covert understanding with them. The tie-up between Congress and the CPI(M) is an unholy alliance. The BJP is also with them as they don't want a peaceful and secular government in Bengal," Banerjee said while releasing the list of 294 candidates for the upcoming Assembly elections.
"I want to question Congress and CPI(M) why they are fighting against each other in Kerala when they are having an alliance here. They could have divided the seats between themselves in Kerala and formed a joint venture government and save the money of the Election Commission," Banerjee said.
Banerjee said the TMC will that candidates of the alliance lose their security deposits in the Bengal polls.
She said "we are willing to take those Congress leaders in the party who are willing to leave Congress protesting against the alliance."
"We have worked hard in the past four and a half years and have done more work that we had promised," Banerjee said.
