The chief minister said after many years new members will take office in the new hill council as per the GTA agreement.
"They will take oath next month. I congratulate all of them for their participation in democratic process," she wrote on her latest post on Facebook.
"I convey my best wishes and full support to their sincere efforts of bringing peace, development and prosperity in Darjeeling," she said.
Polling will be held on July 29.
Banerjee met GJM president Bimal Gurung at Orchid House in Kalimpong earlier in the day where she was present for the observation of the 198th birth anniversary of Nepali poet Bhanu Bhakt.
Gurung said, "We'll run the Gorkha Territorial Administration and ensure development in the Darjeeling hills".

"Our friendship with Trinamool Congress will remain even though we will contest in a few seats during GTA polls.
We are happy that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has come to visit various places in Darjeeling again," he said.
