Mamata expresses concern at UP communal flare-up

Says her govt would not allow anyone to create communal disharmony in the state

Expressing concern at the communal flare-up in Uttar Pradesh which led to several deaths, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today said her government would not allow anyone to create communal disharmony in the state.

"Riot is dangerous. It takes lives of so many people. You have seen how many people have died in Uttar Pradesh in riots. There were also riots in Assam some time back and we have helped giving shelter (to the refugees from Assam and provide them with food and other necessities," she said.

"We have never supported riots or communal disharmony and we will not spare whosoever will try to instigate communal unrest in the state," she said speaking at a state government programme at Panchala.
