West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Monday expressed her deep grief over the demise of former BCCI president Biswanath Dutt.
Dutt was the BCCI president in 1989 after a six-year stint as the vice-president of the parent body from 1982-88.
"I am deeply saddened by the passing away of Biswanath Dutt. His demise is a big loss for the sporting fraternity of the country," Banerjee told in her message from Milan.
The Chief Minister extended her condolences for the family members of Dutt, who passed away Monday after suffering from acute lung infection.
Dutt was 92. He is survived by his daughter and son Subrata Dutta, who is the senior vice-president of All India Football Federation.
