West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today felicitated 82 rank-holders of the Madhyamik (Secondary) and Higher Secondary examinations under state Boards this year for their outstanding results.

"You are free to chose disciplines for higher studies, but must try to be outstanding human beings and assets of the country," Banerjee said after an interaction with the students.

Speaking on the occasion, Banerjee also asked officials of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education and West Bengal Higher Secondary Council to be liberal in giving marks during evaluation of papers to make it competitive with other Boards.

"The state has many talents who will prove themselves beneficial for the country. They will also glorify the image of the state before the world," Banerjee said encouraging the students.

Altogether 54 students of Madhyamik Examination and 28 students of Higher Secondary Examination, who ranked within first ten in their respective exams were present along with their parents and teachers on the occasion.

Giving away citation and gifts like laptop, books and sweets to all rank-holders, state's Education Minister Partha Chatterjee also wished them success in higher studies.
