A day after she made a suprise visit to Alipore jail, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee followed it up with a suprise visit to Presidency jail.
"Yesterday the chief minister made a surprise visit to Alipore jail. Today she made a suprise visit to Presidency jail. She spoke to jail officials and inmates," ADG jails Adhir Sharma said.
Yesterday she visited Alipore Jail and interacted with the inmates and jail officials.
Banerjee's visit took place in the backdrop of the killing of a lifer Happy Singh inside the jail presmises a few days back and the sucide of another jail inmate afew months back.
