Mamata meets President for second time

The President, who was supposed to leave for Delhi after laying the foundation stone of a Chaitanya Mahaprabhu Museum here, returned to Raj Bhavan

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today met President Pranab Mukherjee at Raj Bhavan here for the second time during the head of state's three-day visit and they were understood to have discussed the state's financial situation.

The President, who was supposed to leave for Delhi after laying the foundation stone of a Chaitanya Mahaprabhu Museum here, returned to Raj Bhavan.

Raj Bhavan sources said that Banerjee had a one-on-one with the President for over an hour. Later, West Bengal finance minister Amit Mitra and industry minister Partha Chatterjee joined her. State Governor M K Narayanan was also present.

The chief minister however did not say anything regarding the meeting.
 

Earlier on Saturday, she had met the President on the first day of his visit.
