West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today offered prayers and puja at the famous Kali temple at Tarapith in Birbhum district.
She reached Tarapith after inaugurating a festival in nearby Burdwan district and went to the temple premises at about 6.45 pm.
Banerjee offered puja and stayed there for around 15 minutes when thousands of people gathered at the narrow roads to the temple to have a glimpse of her.
Then she headed to the PWD guest house at Rampurhat where she will launch a number of programmes and address a public rally.
