"It is unjust, unilateral and not right. We cannot support a decision which will put a huge additional burden on the common man. It is unacceptable," she told reporters at the state secretariat.
Asked if she would talk to the Centre and demand a rollback, Banerjee said, "If anyone (at the Centre) wants to talk to me I will do so. The demand for rollback will remain. But why will this happen?"
The Trinamool supremo, however, said her party was not considering pulling out of the UPA government as it would lead to political and economic instability.
"Now you will ask me whether we will pull out of the UPA. It is no matter whether we remain in the UPA or leave it. But our election commitment is to support the government for five years.
"If I topple the government, there will be a setback as also political and economic instability. But we will not act like CPI-M," she said.
"May be we are not coming out ... But that does not mean our mode of protest and resistance against such unjust decision will cease," she warned.

Displaying a graph by Finance Minister Amit Mitra, she said that that the price of petrol was sharply increased when the international price of crude had dropped.
