West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee pulled up the state power department officials in Jalpaiguri district Wednesday for faults in powerlines.
Her ire was prompted by snapping of power supply four times at the Tilabari tourist complex where she had stayed on Tuesday night.
She was on a four-day tour to north Bengal.
"Government funds are being spent. (But) the people are being harassed. Why is this happening?" she said.
Banerjee said lashing out at officials concerned that if power problems take place where the chief minister is staying, the situation of the common people is understandable.
"I will ask the chief secretary to hold a meeting with the power department," the chief minister said.
West Bengal is a power surplus state.
