West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today remembered legendary music composer Sachin Dev Burman on his 110th birth anniversary.
"Remembering the great music composer Sachin Karta (S D Burman) on his birth anniversary," Banerjee wrote on her Twitter handle.
Born on this day to the Tripura royal family, Burman started his career with Bengali films in 1937.

Popularly known as 'Sachin Karta', he also lent his voice to semi-classical and folk style songs of Bengal.
He died on October 31, 1975 in Mumbai at the age of 69.
Lata Mangeshkar, Md Rafi, Manna Dey, Kishore Kumar, Hemant Kumar, Asha Bhonsle and Mukesh were among singers who sang songs composed by Burman. His son Rahul Dev Burman also became a celebrated music composer who wrote scores for many top Hindi and Bengali films.
