Mamata to hold meeting with industry captains on Jan 14

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will hold a meeting with core groups on industrialisation and captains of the industry on January 14 to take forward the outcome of Bengal Global Business Summit.

West Bengal government launched the summit to attract investment to the state which was attended by many industrialists.

"She will hold a meeting with the core groups and captains of industry on January 14 to thank them and to take forward the outcome of Bengal Global Business Summit", a state secretariat source told PTI.

West Bengal has received total investment proposals worth around Rs 2.43 lakh crore spread across sectors like education, health, mining, steel,infrastructure and financial services during the two-day summit, which concluded here on Thursday.
 

"The state has received investment proposals worth around Rs 2.43 lakh crore during the summit. These proposals are spread across sectors like education, health, mining, steel, port, urban infrastructure, food processing, power, infrastructure, MSME, financial services, tourism and hospitality," Chief Minister has said.

Banerjee had said once the proposed investments start fructifying in two to three years, more than one crore jobs would be created in Bengal.

Aiming to expedite the formalities over deals signed with the industry, Banerjee had said a small core group will be formed.

Banerjee had also said a committee, headed by state Finance Minister Amit Mitra, would monitor the progress of implementation of the proposals. Industry representatives and investors in the state can keep in touch with the team directly.
