The foundation stone of the proposed Silicon Valley Asia at Rajarhat in the city will be laid on August 13, a senior government official said here today.
The project, to be built keeping in mind the one in the United States, is being taken to boost the IT industry in the state, he said.
"The project will definitely attract a large number of multinational companies to invest and set up their companies here," the official said.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will lay the foundation stone and prominent industry captains have been invited to the programme, he added.
