West Bengal Left Front chairman Biman Bose today accused Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee of violating Model Code of Conduct during her speech at the Ramlila Maidan with an "aim to vitiate the pre-poll environment in the state".
"It has been reported in the media that during a public meeting today in New Delhi, Mamata Banerjee has launched a virulent and unverified attack on the CPI(M) and other parties claiming that the parties were hatching a conspiracy to harm or even kill her," Bose said in a letter to the Chief Election Commissioner.
"Such kind of statement is a deliberate attempt to vitiate the pre-poll environment in West Bengal where the law and order situation is already charged by the violent speeches and activities of AITC leaders and workers," Bose said.
