Atletico de Kolkata midfielder and Bangladesh skipper Mamunul Islam Mamun said his main endeavour would be to win the hearts of football loving citizens of Kolkata and play for either East Bengal or Mohun Bagan after Indian Super League (ISL) that begins on October 12.

Addressing mediapersons before the friendly match between ISL side and Pinky Roy's Eleven being held later in the evening to create awareness about prevention of cancer, Mamunul said: "Playing for Atletico de Kolkata is a sort of dream come true for me as I have a desire to play in Kolkata for a long time."

Pinky Roy is now bravely fighting the deadly disease.

Asked weather he would hang on here after his assignment in the ISL, the Bangladesh captain said: "I shall stay if I get an offer from East Bengal or Mohun Bagan. It is also my dream to play for these clubs."

"In ISL, I shall try my best and I am sure I will be able to win the hearts of people of Kolkata, the Mecca of Indian football," the lone footballer from Bangladesh to figure in the ISL said.

Mamunul said that all his teammates in Bangladesh are happy that he will be playing for Atletico de Kolkata.

"This will definitely pave the way for other Bangladeshi players to come and play here," the top Bangladesh midfielder said.

About forthcoming ISL, the 25-year-old Mamunul, who also leads Bangladesh Premier League champions Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club, felt this tournament would be a very high standard tournament in all respects.
