Man arrest with Nag Chatri in Jammu

Police today arrested a smuggler and recovered 14 kgs of banned rare medicinal herb Nag Chatri worth Rs 4 crore from his possession in Jammu city.

A police party during surprise checking at Manda belt in Jammu city intercepted a Maruti Van driven by one Mohd Yasin of Banihal (Ramban district) today, a police officer said.

During search of the vehicle police party recovered 14 Kgs Nag Chatri which he had concealed in the car, he said.

The sale and purchase of Nag Chatri is prohibited in J&K, he said adding that the accused was arrested by police and Nag Chatri seized.
 

A case has been registered and further investigation is going on, he added.
